Who we are
deadrails.org is an independent guide to the Roblox experience Dead Rails. The contact is [email protected]. Roblox and RCM Games do not run this site.
We do not require an account and we do not sell personal data. The third parties below are the measurement, session-replay and advertising services that the pages actually request. Community videos are ordinary outbound links to YouTube, not embedded players.
Default loading, and how to say no
Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra start on the first page view. They are not held back until you press Accept. The banner informs you and lets you withdraw at any time.
Press Reject and the page sends withdrawal signals, stores denied for 180 days under deadrails_consent, removes the ad and replay scripts, disables GA4, and reloads without the ad or replay code. Reloading stops code that was already running, but it cannot undo requests made before Reject. Press Accept to store granted for 180 days and keep the services on. The footer button Cookie settings reopens the banner. An expired choice is treated as a new visit: the services load and the banner appears again.
Google Consent Mode v2 starts with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, analytics_storage granted, url_passthrough on, and ads_data_redaction on. The first visit raises all four storage signals without saving an explicit choice. Accept keeps them granted; Reject changes all four to denied. These Google signals do not gate Adsterra or Clarity: those load by default and stop through Reject. The close control stops only the Social Bar, not analytics or replay.
Global Privacy Control is honored. If navigator.globalPrivacyControl is true, the site records denied, shows an explanatory notice and does not request the vendors. You can object through Cookie settings or by writing to the contact address. No explicit choice is saved merely by visiting: the banner stays available until you choose Accept or Reject.
| Third party | When it loads | Purpose | Cookies and storage | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, G-F90FKMPFPN) | Every page view by default. On a return visit with a current Reject record or Global Privacy Control, the GA4 loader is not requested, config is not called and analytics cookies are not written. | Count visits and page views so we know which walkthrough pages are used. | First-party cookies _ga and _ga_F90FKMPFPN. Requests can include the page URL, browser and device information, and event identifiers. | Google documents up to 2 years for GA cookies, subject to browser limits and account settings. We have not verified a custom GA4 retention setting. |
| Microsoft Clarity (project z43pbn7iln) | Every page view by default. Reject removes the tag and reloads without it. | Heatmaps and session replay of page interactions. Do not enter sensitive information into third-party widgets. | First-party cookies _clck and _clsk. Microsoft also documents identifiers including CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR and SM, depending on browser and consent. | Microsoft documents 1 year for _clck and 1 day for _clsk. Other identifiers and recording retention follow Clarity settings and Microsoft policy. |
| Adsterra (publisher 3403020; NativeBanner_1 unit 31944636, SocialBar_1 unit 31944637) | Every page view by default. Reject removes the native slot and the floating bar and does not request the ad host again. | Show the native banner below the article and the dismissible Social Bar at the bottom of the page, and fund the hosting. | Observed advertising cookies include sb_main_ea4575e1299af45046c437287128608c and sb_count_ea4575e1299af45046c437287128608c, plus dynamically named identifiers. Observed vendor localStorage includes oec_consent_v1 and extendedvaluekey. Partners may set other identifiers; this is not a fixed exhaustive list. | Vendor- and browser-controlled; we have not verified one retention period for every advertising identifier. Reject prevents new requests after reload but does not erase earlier vendor records. |
| YouTube (external video references only) | Only after you follow an outbound video link and leave this site. No YouTube script, thumbnail request or iframe loads within our pages. | Let you find optional community videos at their source. | YouTube processes your visit under its own policy on its own website. We do not embed its player or set YouTube cookies here. | Controlled by YouTube on its own website; this site makes no YouTube request. |
| Our own consent and close records | When you press Accept or Reject, send Global Privacy Control, or close the sponsored bar. | Remember your choice and whether you closed the bottom bar. | localStorage key deadrails_consent holds JSON fields choice, ts and v. localStorage key deadrails_social_closed holds the timestamp of the last Social Bar close. | 180 days, then treated as a new visit. deadrails_social_closed also expires after 180 days. |
| First-party pages, CSS, fonts and images | Every visit. | Render the guide. Fonts are files we host, not a Google Fonts request. | Browser cache only. | No server-side profile. |
Observed delivery hosts
Google: www.googletagmanager.com and www.google-analytics.com (regional Google Analytics endpoints may vary). Microsoft: www.clarity.ms, scripts.clarity.ms and letter-prefixed *.clarity.ms collection endpoints.
Adsterra: both configured placements request bicea.org. Observed ad delivery, images, scripts and creative frames also request static.nresystems.com, cdn.storageimagedisplay.com, cdn.show-sb.com, cdn.show-creative1.com, cdn.cloudpiko.com and m1.openfpcdn.io. These are downstream advertising resources, not extra services deliberately embedded by our editor. The creative and its downstream hosts can vary. All load by default when selected by the vendor and are stopped by Reject on the reloaded page.
YouTube video references are outbound links to www.youtube.com, not an embedded service. Fonts, guide images and page styles are hosted by this site. Ordinary outbound source and video links do not request their destinations until you follow them.
Advertising, personalization and legal basis
Adsterra is the only advertising network configured on this site. The configured formats are Native Banner and Social Bar, with adult ads disabled in the integration record. We do not configure AdSense, Popunder, a standard Banner unit or Smartlink. We do not sell mailing lists; ad partners can receive identifiers as described above.
Adsterra and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to limit repetition and measure an ad. Where the law allows it, those partners may personalize ads. Wider-web controls include Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com) and Microsoft ad settings (https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings). Those controls apply to their respective providers, not every ad network. Pressing Reject here stops the Adsterra request on this site altogether.
Legal bases: consent for the stored choice and, where required, for analytics, session replay and advertising identifiers; legitimate interest in measuring the guide, funding the hosting and keeping the pages working where consent is not the applicable basis. You can withdraw at any time without losing access to the guide.
We do not knowingly serve interest-based ads to children. The guide is written for players old enough to use Roblox under its own terms.
Your rights and how to use them
You can ask what this policy covers, ask for a copy of anything you sent us, object to measurement, or ask us to forget an email. Write to [email protected]. We answer from the same address.
The consent record lives in your browser, not on our server. Cookie settings and Reject replace it with a denied record; clearing site data deletes it, which restores default loading on your next visit. Blocking the vendors with an extension also works and the guide still renders.
If you are in the EEA or the UK you may complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are in California you may ask us not to share personal information; we do not sell it, and Reject plus Global Privacy Control are the opt-out signals this site reads.
We will change this page when the scripts change and move the date at the top. The old text remains in the site's git history.

Questions
Do you use cookies?
Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra set their own cookies as described in the table. Our own choice is stored in localStorage under deadrails_consent, and the Social Bar close time under deadrails_social_closed.
Do analytics and ads load before I click Accept?
Yes. They load on the first page view. The banner informs you and lets you withdraw; Reject turns them off and remembers that for 180 days.
How do I turn ads and recording off?
Press Reject in the banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer and press Reject. The choice is kept for 180 days. You can also close the Social Bar, which is remembered for 180 days.
Do you run personalized ads?
Adsterra and its partners may personalize where the law allows. Adult ads are off. Use the opt-out links above for the wider web, or press Reject here to stop the Adsterra request on this site.
